FG Launches Rehabilitation of Babban Lamba–Sharam Road

The Federal Government of Nigeria officially inaugurated the rehabilitation of the Babban Lamba–Sharam Road, Phase II in Plateau State, with the ceremony attended by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's representative, Professor Nentaw Goshw Yilwatda. The project is part of the administration's infrastructure renewal program aimed at promoting economic growth and enhancing connectivity across the nation.

Professor Yilwatda described the project as a strategic investment that will create jobs and boost tourism. He urged the contractor, Messrs Decenc Associates Nigeria, to ensure timely completion while maintaining high-quality standards.

The historical significance of the area, being the birthplace of former Head of State General Yakubu Gowon, was noted. Engr.

David Umahi, the Minister of Works, expressed gratitude for the project and emphasized the administration's commitment to infrastructure development. Governor Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang welcomed the initiative, highlighting its potential to stimulate economic activity and improve travel times in Plateau State.
