FG Approves 15 Federal Colleges in Yola to Run Independent Degree Programs

The Federal Government has granted approval to 15 federal colleges in Yola, Adamawa State, to independently run degree programs without university affiliations, in line with the dual mandate policy. The National Universities Commission (NUC) approved this move, with the Federal College of Education (FCE) in Yola being the first to implement the initiative.

The college will start with 14 courses in the first phase, aiming to admit degree students from the 2026/2027 academic session. This decision is expected to enhance access to quality teacher education and elevate academic standards in the college.
