FG Strengthens Humanitarian Ties with Kaduna State

Doro, the Honourable Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Reduction, reaffirmed the Federal Government’s commitment to strengthening collaboration with state governments, particularly Kaduna State, to deliver sustainable humanitarian interventions and expand social protection initiatives across Nigeria.

This assurance was made during a courtesy visit from Comrade Yunana Markus Barde, the Kaduna State Commissioner for Humanitarian Affairs, and Hon. Umar Auwal Bajimi, the Chairman of the Kaduna State House of Assembly Committee on Humanitarian Affairs, at Dr. Doro's office in Abuja. Dr. Doro discussed the Ministry’s ongoing reforms, including the National Poverty Lab aimed at enhancing evidence-based policymaking for poverty reduction.

He emphasized the importance of the One Humanitarian, One Poverty Response System (OHOPRS) for coordinated humanitarian efforts. Dr. Doro expressed his intention to visit Kaduna State to further strengthen the partnership.

The Kaduna State Commissioner congratulated Dr. Doro on his daughter's recent wedding and sought federal support for local humanitarian councils and interventions for vulnerable groups.
