Zamfara Government Commits to Humanitarian Operations

The Zamfara State government, represented by the Ministry of Humanitarian and Relief Matters, reaffirmed its commitment to facilitating humanitarian operations in the state. In a statement issued on Thursday in Gusau, Bashir Kabiru Ahmad, the Director of Information and Public Relations, noted the ministry's dedication to enhancing partnerships that benefit communities impacted by insecurity.

The July 2026 Humanitarian Sector Monthly Coordination Meeting convened humanitarian partners, development organizations, and key stakeholders to assess humanitarian interventions and foster collaboration. The Honourable Commissioner for Humanitarian and Relief Matters, Salisu Musa Tsafe, represented by Acting Permanent Secretary Ummulkhairi Abubakar Usman, commended partners for their support of vulnerable populations and stressed the need for ongoing collaboration and timely information sharing.

The meeting included the presentation of the July 2026 Humanitarian Situation Report, detailing the humanitarian landscape, emerging needs, and government interventions. Musa Baba, representing the Nigeria INGO Forum, praised the ministry's leadership and reiterated the forum's commitment to coordinated humanitarian assistance.
