FG Launches Solar-Powered Tricycles for Youth Empowerment

On Wednesday, the Federal Government of Nigeria, through the Federal Ministry of Youth Development, received solar-powered electric tricycles as part of its commitment to youth empowerment. Dr. Maryam Ismaila Keshinro, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, praised the initiative, which is a collaboration with House of Destiny.

This partnership aims to alleviate the struggles of vulnerable youth across the country. The initiative aligns with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's Renewed Hope Agenda, which places youth empowerment at the core of national development.

Keshinro highlighted that the tricycles are not just vehicles but instruments for dignified employment and self-reliance. The beneficiaries are encouraged to innovate and improve existing products while developing solutions that suit local realities, particularly through solar power technology, supporting Nigeria's transition to a green economy.

Dr. Israel Olajumok, Chief Executive Officer of House of Destiny, described the initiative as a strategic partnership that creates meaningful employment and stimulates innovation, promoting women's participation in traditionally male-dominated sectors.
