FG Partners with UbuntuCare to Enhance Digital Healthcare

On August 31, the Federal Government of Nigeria announced a collaboration with UbuntuCare Africa to improve access to quality and affordable healthcare across the country's 774 Local Government Areas. This initiative aims to address healthcare delivery challenges, particularly in underserved and hard-to-reach communities.

UbuntuCare Africa is a digital primary healthcare platform designed to complement government efforts in strengthening primary healthcare and advancing Universal Health Coverage. The platform offers a coordinated system for Nigerians to access healthcare information, nurse-led triage, doctor consultations, referrals, and follow-up care.

It features a 24-hour toll-free, multilingual health support service, allowing individuals without smartphones or internet access to obtain healthcare guidance. The initiative also connects patients to a network of pre-screened clinics, hospitals, and pharmacies, ensuring a seamless transition from virtual consultation to actual treatment.

This approach addresses the gap between digital healthcare delivery and physical treatment, enhancing overall healthcare accessibility.
