FG and VGN Strengthen Partnership for National Security

The Federal Government of Nigeria has pledged to strengthen its partnership with the Vigilante Group of Nigeria (VGN) to enhance security and promote economic development. This commitment was made by the Minister of Youth Development, Ayodele Olawande Wisdom, during a courtesy visit from the VGN's Commander-General and National Chairman, James Udoma, in Abuja.

Wisdom emphasized the VGN's crucial role in grassroots security and its contributions to community safety and national development. He expressed readiness to identify practical areas for collaboration, focusing on youth empowerment, skills acquisition, and community development.

The minister acknowledged the sacrifices made by VGN personnel in protecting communities and stressed the importance of community-based intelligence in addressing security challenges. He also highlighted the need for youth development to be intertwined with national security, advocating for opportunities that prevent youth vulnerability to crime and violence.

Wisdom assured the VGN delegation of the ministry's support in recognizing their efforts and contributions.
