Final-Year Student Found Dead on Kogi Highway

Sarah Idoko, a final-year female student at the Federal University Lokoja, was discovered dead on Saturday night near the crusher area along the Lokoja-Abuja highway in Kogi State. Eyewitnesses reported seeing a vehicle stop briefly at the location around 8 PM, after which her body was found by a passerby.

An identification card recovered from the scene indicated that she was enrolled in the Higher National Diploma program in the Department of Office Technology Management for the 2024/2025 academic session. The Kogi State Police Command, led by Commissioner Nazir Kankarofi, has commenced efforts to investigate the circumstances surrounding her death and apprehend those responsible.

The Nigerian Female Student Association's Kogi State chapter condemned the killing, describing it as cruel and unacceptable, and urged security agencies to conduct a thorough investigation to ensure justice. They also called for improved security measures around campus to prevent similar incidents.
