Kogi University Student Sarah Idoko Found Dead

Sarah Idoko, a final year student at Federal University Lokoja, was discovered dead on Saturday night near the crusher area along the Lokoja-Abuja Highway. Eyewitnesses reported seeing an unidentified vehicle stop briefly near the location around 8 PM.

Her body was later found roadside, prompting security authorities to initiate an investigation. A Kogi State Polytechnic identification card bearing her name was recovered at the scene, indicating she was enrolled in the Higher National Diploma program in the Department of Office Technology Management for the 2024/2025 academic session.

Kogi State Police Commissioner Nazir Kankarofi confirmed the incident and stated that investigations are ongoing to determine the circumstances surrounding her death and to apprehend those responsible. The Association of Nigerian Female Students, Kogi State chapter, condemned the killing, calling it cruel and unacceptable, and urged security agencies to conduct a thorough investigation and enhance security around campus to prevent similar tragedies.
