Fire Destroys Shops at Pumpum Nuri Water Site in Yobe

A fire incident occurred at the Pumpum Nuri Water Site in Geidam Local Government Area, Yobe State, destroying several shops and causing traders to incur losses estimated in millions of naira. The incident was reported by the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) on Tuesday, with the statement signed by SC Bala Garba, the command’s Public Relations Officer.
The fire reportedly started around 11 PM on Monday while residents were indoors. Although the cause of the fire remains unknown, the NSCDC confirmed that it was eventually brought under control and that no casualties were reported.
The corps is currently assessing the damage, which has resulted in significant financial losses for affected traders and business owners.
