Nigerian Graduate Alfred Kareem Wins Erasmus Mundus Scholarship

Alfred Kareem, a first-class engineering graduate from Nigeria, has announced his receipt of an Erasmus Mundus Scholarship to pursue a master's degree in the META 4.0, Manufacturing 4.0 by Intelligent and Sustainable Technologies programme. This multi-institutional master's will take him to six European universities: Centrale Lyon ENISE and École des Mines de Saint-Étienne in France, Politecnico di Torino in Italy, the University of Ljubljana in Slovenia, NTNU in Gjøvik in Norway, and Technische Universität Chemnitz in Germany.

Kareem began his undergraduate studies in 2020, initially focused on completing his degree without a clear vision of his future. Over time, he developed a passion for mechanical design, CAD modelling, simulation, and manufacturing, engaging in competitions, volunteer work, and hands-on projects.

Despite periods of doubt, his persistence led to this scholarship, which he views as an opportunity to broaden his worldview and enhance his engineering skills. He expressed gratitude to God and several individuals who supported him, including Folasade D.
