Bayelsa Residents Take Action Against Flooding with Self-Help Project

Bayelsa residents in Artebor Assembly road, Akenpai Community, Yenagoa, are taking proactive measures against flooding by initiating a self-help project to build higher ground. Led by Mr.

Victor Owubou, the community has raised funds and mobilized manpower to prepare for the impending flood. Owubou highlighted the challenges faced due to poor road conditions during rainy seasons, emphasizing the need for government intervention.

The project's first phase involves repairing roads and opening drainage systems to mitigate flood impact. Residents are appealing for government support while continuing their efforts to alleviate the suffering caused by annual flooding in the area.
