Ogun State Government Approves Reconstruction of Flooded Road

A section of the Siun-Ogere-Iperu Road in Ogun State has been submerged by floodwater, particularly at the Ajura section, causing significant deterioration. Motorists, including commercial drivers, expressed concerns about the road's condition, noting that it had been recently repaired before the National Sports Festival but began to deteriorate shortly thereafter.

Motorists Quadri and Shola reported that the road had undergone multiple repairs since Governor Dapo Abiodun's administration, with previous repairs being inadequate. Shola highlighted the recurring flooding issue due to poor drainage infrastructure along the route.

In response, Kayode Akinmade, the Special Adviser on Media and Strategy to Governor Dapo Abiodun, confirmed that the Ogun State Government is aware of the situation and has approved a comprehensive reconstruction and realignment of the road. This reconstruction will involve raising the road profile and constructing a larger box culvert to improve water flow and mitigate flooding.
