NAIC Partners with Ministries to Boost Farmers' Insurance

Yazid Shehu Danfulani, the Managing Director of the Nigerian Agricultural Insurance Corporation (NAIC), held a high-level meeting with Aliyu Sabi Abdullahi, the Minister of State for Agriculture and Food Security, and Taiwo OYedele from the Ministry of Finance. The meeting aimed to strengthen collaboration in agricultural insurance as part of President Bola Tinubu's Renewed Hope Agenda.

The discussions focused on expanding insurance coverage for farmers, improving access to affordable insurance products, and developing stronger risk management measures to protect farmers from climate change threats such as floods, droughts, pests, and diseases. The officials emphasized the importance of enhancing coordination between the ministries of Agriculture and Finance and NAIC, which is a central pillar of Nigeria's agricultural finance framework.

The meeting underscored the federal government's commitment to using agricultural insurance as a tool to boost investment in agriculture, improve farmer resilience, and support food security.
