Former SSS Director-General Chief Horsfall Passes Away

Chief Albert Korubo Horsfall, who served as the Director-General of the State Security Service (SSS) and was the pioneer Director-General of the National Intelligence Agency (NIA), has died. His son, Donald Horsfall, announced his passing on Friday, describing it as the loss of a “beloved patriarch.” The family expressed gratitude for his life of remarkable service and accomplishments, noting his dedication to Nigeria, Rivers State, and the Niger Delta.

Horsfall was recognized as a founding father of Rivers State, contributing significantly to its development and the nation during his public service career. His family emphasized his dedication, integrity, and patriotism, which earned him respect across generations.

He also chaired the defunct Oil Mineral Producing Areas Development Commission and was known for his commitment to justice, peace, and good governance. The family is yet to announce funeral arrangements but stated that details would be communicated later.
