Audu-Ohwavborua Honors Horsfall's Legacy in Niger Delta

Dr. Emmanuel Audu-Ohwavborua, a former Director of Project Monitoring and Supervision at the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), commemorated the late Chief Albert Korubo Horsfall for his significant contributions to the development of the Niger Delta. The event took place at the NDDC Headquarters in Port Harcourt on September 24, 2026, where members of the NDDC board and management signed a condolence register in honor of Horsfall, who passed away at the age of 84.

Horsfall was the pioneer Chairman of the Oil Minerals Producing Areas Development Commission (OMPADEC), established in 1992, and played a crucial role in the early development of federal interventions in oil-producing communities. Audu-Ohwavborua noted that Horsfall laid the foundation stone for the NDDC headquarters in 1995, which was completed in 2019 after years of delays.

The ceremony symbolized the connection between OMPADEC and the NDDC, reflecting Horsfall's lasting legacy in the region.
