MGE Foundation Trains Over 4,000 in Niger Delta Skills

The MGE Foundation announced that it has successfully trained over 4,000 residents in the Niger Delta in various vocational skills since its establishment in 2007. This achievement was disclosed during the foundation's eighth graduation ceremony held in Port Harcourt, where 28 beneficiaries received tools, including sewing machines, gas cookers, and laptops, to help them establish their businesses.
Co-founder Mr. Georg Etomi stated that the initiative was conceived in response to the devastating impact of illegal oil bunkering on the livelihoods of Niger Delta communities, particularly fishermen.
The foundation boasts a success rate of 90% among its trainees, who undergo a one-year intensive training program designed to equip them with practical entrepreneurial skills. Dr.
Mike Etomi emphasized the importance of vocational skills in today's economy, while Mr. Ibifama Walaku reaffirmed the foundation's commitment to breaking the cycle of poverty through entrepreneurship.
Senator John Azuta Mbata attended the ceremony, commending the foundation's contributions to community development.
