Four Amotekun Officers Killed in Ondo Ambush Attack

Four officers of the Ondo State Security Network Agency, known as Amotekun Corps, were reportedly killed in an ambush by unknown armed men in Akure North Local Government Area of Ondo State. The Corps confirmed the death of two personnel, while another officer sustained fatal injuries during the attack.

This incident occurred as the operatives were leaving their operational base in the Ago-Oyinbo farming area, around Ala Daadaa, when the assailants opened fire. According to the Corps’ spokesperson, Jimoh Adeniken, the officers engaged in a fierce gun battle but were overwhelmed by the attackers.

Adeniken stated that despite the bravery shown by the officers, one sustained fatal injuries and two lost their lives, with the deceased personnel being recognized for their sacrifice in the line of duty. Following the attack, reinforcements were deployed, and the Corps intensified patrols and intelligence gathering to prevent further incidents and restore confidence among residents.

The Ondo State Government and the Corps management expressed condolences to the families of the fallen officers.
