Amotekun Corps Rescues Two Fulani Herders in Ondo

On Tuesday, the Ondo State Security Network Agency, also known as the Amotekun Corps, announced the successful rescue of two young Fulani herders, Abubakar Umaru and Abdullahi Umaru, who had been abducted by suspected kidnappers in a forest along the Ondo–Edo State boundary. The boys were tending cattle in the Owo area when they were taken.

State Commander Adetunji Adeleye stated that the operation was initiated after the victims' parents reported their absence. The team first retrieved the cattle and then pursued the kidnappers into the forest, specifically an area called Abuja Forest.

Upon surrounding the kidnappers' hideout, the abductors fled, allowing the operatives to rescue the boys. Adeleye praised the community for their timely intelligence and reaffirmed the agency's commitment to protecting all residents, emphasizing that they do not discriminate based on ethnicity.
