Crisis in APM as Makinde, Mohammed Loyalists Dominate

A fresh crisis has erupted within the Allied Peoples Movement (APM) as loyalists of Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde and Bauchi State Governor Bala Mohammed reportedly dominate the party's nomination process for the 2027 elections. Allegations have surfaced that nomination forms are being reserved for loyalists of the two governors, which has frustrated other aspirants.

Disgruntled aspirants, who spoke on the condition of anonymity, accused the party's leadership of deliberately obstructing their efforts to participate in the nomination process. They claimed repeated attempts to obtain nomination forms were ignored without explanation.

APM's national chairman, Yusuf Mamman Dantal, has not responded to calls or text messages regarding these allegations. Additionally, it has been reported that Bala Mohammed is expected to formally join APM, intensifying internal political alignments within the party ahead of the upcoming elections.

The situation has worsened due to the party's slow membership registration process, which is described as being under manual control and limiting access for new members.
