Omokri Defends Tinubu's Age Amid FBI Records Controversy

Reno Omokri, Nigeria’s ambassador-designate to Mexico, commented on the ongoing controversy regarding President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's age and the release of his alleged FBI records. Omokri stated that Tinubu's declared date of birth is March 29, 1952, countering claims that the president is 91 years old.

He emphasized that the date of birth in the documents aligns with the age declared by Tinubu. Omokri argued that the FBI records should not be automatically interpreted as evidence of criminal activity.

He suggested that Tinubu's reluctance to make the alleged FBI records public could be due to the sensitive nature of the information, drawing a parallel to a previous controversy involving Nigerian singer David Adeleke. Omokri noted that a letter from the American Consulate dated February 4, 2003, confirmed Tinubu's birth date and was in response to an inquiry from Tafa Balogun, then Inspector General of Police, regarding Tinubu's background.
