NAFRC Enhances Military Resettlement for Sustainable Livelihoods

Air Vice Marshal Nnaemeka Ignatius Ilo, the 42nd Commandant of the Nigerian Armed Forces Resettlement Centre (NAFRC) in Oshodi, Lagos, is transforming the resettlement process for retiring military personnel. His administration focuses on preparing personnel for civilian life through curriculum reforms, agricultural entrepreneurship, and strategic partnerships.

On July 31, he inaugurated Pre-Discharge Course 2/2026, which received 840 nominations from across the Services, with 689 participants documented. Major General AA Babalola, the General Officer Commanding 81 Division, emphasized the importance of this training for entrepreneurship and national service.

AVM Ilo is collaborating with the National Board for Technical Education and the National Directorate of Employment to enhance the curriculum, aiming to provide industry-relevant skills and nationally recognized certifications. The goal is to ensure that resettlement training meets contemporary needs, equipping personnel with practical skills for sustainable civilian careers after military service.
