FUL Postgraduates Urged to Enhance Alumni Engagement

On February 3, 2023, Dr. Steve Olusegun Ogidan, the Chief Executive Officer of Turnaround Management Association Nigeria, addressed postgraduate students at Federal University Lokoja, urging them to take an active role in alumni engagement and institutional growth.

He delivered a lecture at a roundtable organized in collaboration with the National Institute for Legislative and Democratic Studies, focusing on the theme of alumni participation in university development. Dr.

Ogidan outlined a framework aimed at transforming alumni engagement into a strategic driver for institutional development, calling for measurable, time-bound commitments to strengthen the university's alumni structure for long-term sustainability. He criticized the prevailing culture of passive engagement among Nigerian graduates and stressed the importance of seeing themselves as stakeholders in the future of the university.

Professor Gbenga Solomon Ibiley, the Vice Chancellor, also encouraged students to embrace a sense of ownership and responsibility towards the university, emphasizing that their contributions are vital for the institution's growth and global recognition.
