Family Dispute Over Alao-Akala's Estate in Court

A legal dispute has emerged regarding the estate of the late Adebayo Alao-Akala, who served as the Deputy Governor of Oyo State until his death on January 12, 2022, at the age of 71. His first daughter, Oluwatoyin Alao Aderinto, has filed a suit at the Oyo State High Court contesting the management of her father's assets, which she claims have been irregularly administered.

Aderinto seeks judicial intervention, asserting that she holds a legal equitable interest in the estate and that assets have already been sold without her knowledge or consent. She warns that failure to grant her an injunction could lead to irreparable loss.

The court documents reveal a vast array of properties linked to Alao-Akala, including locations in Lagos, Abuja, Ibadan, and even international properties in the UK and the US. The dispute highlights ongoing disagreements over the administration of the estate, which includes various real estate holdings and business interests.
