Alao-Akala Estate Battle Uncovers Vast Property Portfolio

The estate battle involving the late Adebayo Alao-Akala, former governor of Oyo State, has intensified as his daughter, Oluwatoyin Alao Aderinto, contests the management of his assets in a suit marked 443/2024 at the Oyo State High Court. Aderinto alleges that properties belonging to her deceased father have been sold without her knowledge and seeks judicial intervention to halt further transactions that could lead to irreparable loss.

The executor of the estate, Oluwakemi Alao Akala, and Olamid Alabi are named in the suit. The late politician, who passed away on January 12, 2022, owned a vast portfolio of properties, including locations in Lagos, Abuja, Ibadan, and even abroad in Jamaica and Essex.

The ongoing legal dispute underscores the family's disagreements over inheritance and control of the estate, which includes multiple residential and commercial properties, as well as significant land holdings.
