APC Wins All Chairmanship Seats in Ebonyi Elections

In the recent local government elections in Ebonyi State, the All Progressives Congress (APC) achieved a clean sweep, winning all 13 chairmanship and 171 councillorship seats. The results were announced on Sunday by Patrick Enyi, Chairman of the Ebonyi State Independent Electoral Commission, at their office on Onwe Road, Abakaliki.

Among the elected chairpersons was Osborn Umahi, the son of the Minister of Works, David Umahi, who became the chairman-elect of Ohaozara Local Government Area. Other elected chairpersons include Peace Agwu (Ishielu), Paul Ituma (Ohaukwu), and several others across various local government areas.

Enyi characterized the election as peaceful, free, and fair, acknowledging the participation of other political parties and commending voters and security agencies for their roles. Following his election, Osborn Umahi praised the commission for its transparency and pledged to focus on rural development, youth empowerment, and agricultural transformation.

APC Chairman in Ebonyi, Stanley Okoro Emegha, stated that the results reflect the party's dominance and growing acceptance in the state, expressing confidence for future elections.
