Ganduje Calls for Enhanced Funding for NLO Clubs

Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, the immediate past governor of Kano State and grand patron of Gandujiyya Babe FC, lamented the funding challenges faced by NLO clubs during a courtesy visit from players and officials of the Nationwide League. He called for public-private sector collaboration to invest in grassroots sports as a means to empower Nigerian youth and diversify the economy.

Ganduje highlighted the importance of adequate sports infrastructure and major sponsorship for grassroots events as part of Nigeria's human capital development agenda. He acknowledged the financial constraints currently affecting NLO clubs in Kano, particularly due to recent political changes.

Ganduje reassured that the new Kano State governor, Abba Kabir Yusuf, would intervene to reverse the situation. Ibrahim Usman Arzai, chairman of Gandujiyya Babe FC, praised Ganduje for his support since the club's inception ten years ago, which has helped recruit youth from all 44 local government areas in Kano.
