Ghana Recalls High Commissioner to Nigeria Over Electoral Malpractice Allegations

Ghana has recalled its High Commissioner to Nigeria, Moham Baba Jamal Ahm, following allegations of electoral malpractice during a party primary election in the Ayawaso East Constituency. President John Dramani Mahama issued a statement directing the immediate recall, citing concerns over possible breaches of Ghana's code of conduct for political appointees.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has been instructed to facilitate the necessary diplomatic administrative processes related to the recall. Ahm, who was serving as Ghana's envoy to Nigeria at the time of the primary election, reportedly emerged as the winner of the contest.

The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has initiated an internal investigation into the alleged irregularities to safeguard the integrity of its internal democratic processes. This recall underscores the commitment of Mahama's administration to upholding ethical conduct in public office.
