Lekki Gardens CEO Highlights Community Investment Success

Dr. Richard Nyong, the Chief Executive Officer of Lekki Gardens, stated that the company's rise to becoming a market leader in luxury real estate is attributed to its commitment to giving back to society.

He delivered a lecture at the closing ceremony of the ninth administration of the University of Port Harcourt, where he spoke on the theme of leadership and purposeful giving. Nyong recounted the company's early challenges, including poor road access and limited funding, when it developed its first 200 housing units in Ajah, Lagos.

Instead of focusing solely on immediate commercial gains, Lekki Gardens invested in building a kilometer of access road, which significantly improved community infrastructure and increased property values by 300%. This strategy was replicated when the company expanded to Abuja in 2016, where they constructed a 1.5-kilometer road and sold 300 housing units within four months.

Nyong urged aspiring entrepreneurs to embrace purposeful leadership to achieve sustainable growth.
