Gombe ADC Publicity Secretary Abdulrahman Zaune Resigns

Abdulrahman Buba Zaune, who served as the Publicity Secretary of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Gombe State, resigned from the party effective August 5, 2026. In his resignation letter addressed to the Chairman of the ADC in Zaune Ward, Dukku Local Government Area, Zaune expressed gratitude for the opportunities he had to serve at local, state, and national levels.

Although he did not specify his next political move, there is speculation regarding a possible defection to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC). This speculation is fueled by the timing of his resignation, which occurred shortly after APC governorship candidate Jamilu Gwamna visited Dukku Local Government Area.

Additionally, Zaune's resignation follows the recent departure of ADC State Secretary Ahmed Gana, who joined the APC in support of Gwamna's governorship ambitions, indicating a trend of political realignment as parties prepare for the 2027 governorship election.
