Nigerian Government Begins Payment Verification for Public Servants Disengaged in 2007

The Federal Government has commenced a verification exercise in Gombe State to pay public servants who were disengaged during the 2006-2007 public service reform. The Director-General of the Bureau of Public Service Reform (BPSR), Mr.

Dasuki Ibrahim Arabi, leads the government team overseeing the exercise. The team, comprising officials from various government agencies, is verifying the entitlements of the affected individuals.

This exercise aims to settle the long-overdue payments owed to these former public servants who were not paid for years. The focus of the current exercise is on the Nigeria Export Promotion Council (NEPC), with the BPSR boss disclosing that 99.9% of eligible beneficiaries nationwide have already received their payments.
