Kwara Governor Praises Tinubu for New Army Battalion

On Tuesday, Kwara State Governor Alhaji AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for the establishment of a new army battalion in the state, specifically located in Omu Aran, Irepodun Local Government Area. This initiative is part of efforts to bolster military capabilities and address security threats, including banditry and terrorism.

In a statement issued in Ilorin by the governor's deputy chief press secretary, Mashood Abdulrafiu Agboola, it was noted that the new military format would significantly enhance the state's security response. Governor AbdulRazaq expressed gratitude to Chief of Army Staff Lieutenant General Waidi Shaibu for the swift and gracious processing of the request to strengthen the military presence in Kwara State.

He acknowledged the support of national security agencies, including the Defence, DSS, and Police, in combating terrorism, banditry, and violent crime. The governor assured that the new battalion would greatly strengthen counter-terrorism and anti-kidnapping operations across various areas.
