Yobe Governor's Aide Resigns, Joins ADC for Elections

Hon. Lawan, who served as the liaison officer to Yobe State Governor Hon.

Dr. Mai Mala Buni, has officially resigned from the All Progressives Congress (APC) and defected to the African Democratic Congress (ADC).

In a resignation letter addressed to the APC chairman of Hausari Ward in Geidam Local Government Area, Lawan confirmed his departure from the APC, stating that his decision was made after consultations with his family and political associates. Although he did not explicitly state the reasons for his resignation, close associates revealed that his defection to the ADC is part of a plan to pursue an electoral position.

Governor Buni expressed gratitude for Lawan's service in his administration, highlighting the importance of focusing on political ambitions as stipulated by the Electoral Act, which requires public office holders intending to contest elections to resign from their current posts.
