Gov Inuwa Worried About Polio Variant in Nigeria's North-West Region

Gombe Governor Inuwa Yahaya expressed concerns over a polio variant threatening the North-West region of Nigeria, despite progress in the fight against polio. While Nigeria has been declared free of wild poliovirus, the country still faces challenges with the circulating variant, particularly in the Northwest region.

The National Committee on Polio Eradication has been working to contain the variant, with a focus on states like Kano, Katsina, and others.
