Taraba Governor Supports Women Affairs Council Summit

At the 26th Regular National Council on Women Affairs and Child Development held in Jalingo, Taraba State, Governor Dr. Agbu Kefas reiterated his administration's commitment to initiatives that promote dignity, opportunity, and social protection. Represented by the Head of Service, Dr. Ahmed Kara, he stated the state government is prepared to collaborate with the Federal Government and stakeholders for collective national development.

The governor highlighted the summit's theme, "Strengthening Families and Advancing the Care Economy for Inclusive Development: Operationalising Nigeria’s Renewed Social Protection Architecture," as timely and relevant. He emphasized the need for systems that support women, children, and vulnerable groups.

Kefas encouraged participants to exchange ideas and develop actionable recommendations. Minister of Women Affairs and Social Development, Hajiya Imaan Sulaiman Ibrahim, stressed that the council must produce tangible results in communities, urging that resolutions should influence state budgets and work plans.
