Youth Urged to Embrace Digital Skills in Cross River

Dr. Michael Abuo, the special adviser to the governor of Cross River State, emphasized the importance of digital skills for Nigerian youth during the Excel Award presentation held on Tuesday in Calabar.

He encouraged the youth to leverage the numerous opportunities available in the information technology sector for self-development. Abuo highlighted the achievements of Ugi Augustin, the award recipient and founder of NUGI Technology, who is recognized as a resilient tech entrepreneur and innovator.

Augustin has built an enviable career in technology despite facing significant personal challenges, including living with sickle cell disease. Abuo described Augustin as a great ambassador for the youth of Cross River State and called on the government to account for its efforts to improve the state's economy through technology.

He urged Nigerian youth to pursue their passions in their career paths to ensure integration into the digital economy.
