Governors Call for Community Support in Rural Development

During a cultural celebration in Ijumu Local Government Area, Kogi State Governor Prof. Babagana Umar Zulum and Ekiti State Governor Abiodun Abayomi Oyebanji urged local communities to complement government efforts in rural development.

The event, which included the launch of a development project fund valued at N750 million, highlighted the significance of grassroots action in enhancing living conditions. Governor Zulum, represented by Deputy Joel Oyibo, emphasized the commitment to developing both urban and rural areas.

The occasion also featured the presentation of awards to community members for their contributions. The paramount ruler of Ekirin Add Community, HRM Olu Anthony Bamigbaiy, expressed concerns over security challenges affecting socio-economic activities, stressing the need for unity to tackle these issues.

The event served as a platform to encourage community involvement and promote cultural heritage, with the donation of two 18-seater buses to aid development efforts.
