Group Demands Gbajabiamila's Resignation Over Corruption

The Grassroot Mobil Network (GMN), a support group for the African Democratic Congress (ADC), has called for the resignation of Femi Gbajabiamila, the Chief of Staff to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, due to allegations of corrupt activities. The group has urged President Tinubu to direct Gbajabiamila to resign immediately to allow for a proper independent investigation into the allegations.

GMN dismissed the defense provided by presidential spokesperson Bayo Onanuga, who described the allegations as false. The group emphasized the need for transparency and accountability, stating that Nigeria should not be treated like a "banana republic." They also mentioned that the allegations involve Adeniyi Adeyemi, Director General of the Economic Advisory Council, and called for verification of the existence of certain agencies linked to these claims.

GMN plans to petition the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) and the Independent Corrupt Practices Commission (ICPC) to investigate the matter further.
