Ex-Army General Rabe Abubakar Dies After Abduction

Major General Rabe Abubakar (retd), a former Director of Defence Information, was reportedly abducted alongside his wife while traveling in the Matazu Local Government Area of Katsina State. His death, attributed to complications related to diabetes and hypertension, has been met with deep sorrow from the group PASNAFOSA, which described his passing as a painful loss.

The organization emphasized Abubakar's dedication to defending Nigeria and protecting its citizens throughout his military career. In light of his death, PASNAFOSA condemned the circumstances surrounding it and called for justice, urging the federal government and security agencies to intensify efforts to tackle kidnapping, banditry, and terrorism across the country.

The group also expressed its opposition to granting amnesty to repentant terrorists without adequate accountability, stressing the importance of justice and security for innocent Nigerians. They extended condolences to Abubakar's family and the Nigerian Armed Forces.
