Gunmen Kill Three Miners in Plateau State Attack

On a Friday evening at approximately 7:15 p.m., three miners were attacked and killed by gunmen while returning from a mining site in Fubok, Daffo District, Plateau State. The victims were identified as Maren Agom, 45, from Tadai Village in Manguna District, who was shot in the head; Joe Buba, 38, from Josho Village in Daffo District, who sustained a gunshot wound to the chest; and an individual known as Mr Yellow.

Their bodies have been taken to Alheri Medical Centre in Daffo, located in Bokkos local government area. Christopher Luka, the Bokkos Youth leader, confirmed the incident to Daily Trust.

A community resident, Peter Maju, reported that security personnel were notified immediately and have begun efforts to track down the attackers. Additionally, security has been reinforced in the area to prevent further violence.

This incident contributes to the increasing violence in Bokkos and other regions of Plateau State. Attempts to reach the spokesman of the Plateau State Police Command, DSP Alfred Alabo, for confirmation were unsuccessful at the time of reporting.
