Hanga Reveals Reasons for Split with Kwankwaso

Rufai Sani Hanga, the Senator representing Kano Central Senatorial District, revealed the reasons behind his fractured political relationship with Rabiu Kwankwaso, the vice-presidential candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC). Hanga stated that their disagreements stemmed from his empowerment programs and political activities.

During an interview with Dan’uwa Rano TV, he recounted an incident where he organized a significant empowerment event, distributing vehicles, rice, fertiliser, and grinding machines to constituents. The event took place at a venue associated with Kwankwaso, who had initially agreed to attend but left after expressing displeasure.

Hanga quoted Kwankwaso as accusing him of seeking public praise for his actions. Despite Hanga's attempts to resolve the misunderstanding, he noted that Kwankwaso had previously sent emissaries to request specific beneficiaries for his programs.

Hanga concluded that mutual respect had eroded in their relationship, marking a significant shift in how Kwankwaso treated him.
