Governor Fubara Mourns Senator Barinada Mpigi's Passing

On Friday night, Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara joined residents to mourn the late Senator Barinada Mpigi, who represented the Rivers South-East Senatorial District in the National Assembly. The memorial service took place at the Missionary Anglican Church in Koroma, Tai Local Government Area. In a statement issued on Saturday by his Chief Press Secretary, Onwuka Nzeshi, Fubara described Mpigi as a "fighter" whose impactful contributions will be remembered. He noted that death is the ultimate end of life, which is beyond human control, and emphasized that Mpigi lived a fulfilling life. Fubara urged the bereaved family to remain strong and seek comfort from God to fill the void left by the late lawmaker. He also recalled having sent a condolence letter and visited the family following Mpigi's passing, appreciating the members of the National Assembly and the people of Koroma who attended the service to honor the late senator.
