FCTA Advocates Practical Health Solutions on World Health Day

During the World Health Day commemoration on April 7, 2026, in Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) underscored the necessity of practical solutions to health challenges rather than relying solely on policy. Dr.

Adedolapo Fasaw, representing the FCTA's Health Services Environment Secretariat, announced the integration of teleconsultation into primary healthcare services to reduce patient queues. Ruqayya Wamako, acting executive secretary of the FCT Primary Healthcare Board, emphasized ongoing partnerships to strengthen the health sector.

Nyesom Wike, the FCT Minister, committed to improving health and wellbeing for all residents through various initiatives, including emergency response systems and cleaner energy projects. Dr.

Moham Janabi, the World Health Organization's regional director for Africa, noted the complex health threats in the region, while Dr. Asmau Zeenat called for coordinated action across government disciplines.

The theme for this year's World Health Day focused on collective action to improve health outcomes.
