Hit-and-Run Accident Claims Life of Enugu Police Inspector

Dr. Ikechukwu Obodo, a police inspector holding a PhD, was killed in a hit-and-run accident in Enugu State. The Enugu State Police Command confirmed the incident on Tuesday, detailing that the accident occurred while he was a pedestrian.

SP Daniel Ndukw, the command's public relations officer, issued an official statement clarifying that misleading social media reports suggested the involvement of a high-ranking officer's convoy, which was not the case. Ndukw emphasized the importance of a meticulous investigation into the circumstances surrounding the tragic death of the police officer.

He assured the public that the police are actively pursuing the driver who fled the scene and that the deceased officer's body has been deposited at the mortuary. The command is committed to providing further details as the investigation progresses.
