Enugu Police Confirm Inspector Obodo Killed in Accident

The Enugu State Police Command confirmed on Wednesday that Inspector Dr. Ikechukwu Obodo was killed in a hit-and-run pedestrian accident.

SP Daniel Ndukw, the command's spokesman, issued a statement clarifying misleading reports circulating on social media regarding the incident. Ndukw did not specify the exact time or location of the accident but assured the public that investigations are ongoing.

He expressed deep sorrow over the loss of the officer and emphasized the commitment to thoroughly investigate the matter. Importantly, Ndukw stated that there is currently no evidence to suggest that a police convoy was involved in the fatal accident at the time of Obodo's death.

Inspector Obodo was a PhD holder and served in the Operations Department of the Enugu State Police Command headquarters at the time of the incident.
