JAMB Clarifies Role in HND Admissions and NYSC Mobilization

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB), represented by its Registrar Prof. Haq Oloyed, clarified that it does not oversee the admissions process for Higher National Diploma (HND) programs or the mobilization of HND holders for the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC).

This clarification was made during a meeting with the leadership of the National Association of Polytechnic Students, led by Comrade Eshofun Paul Oghayan, in response to long-standing complaints regarding the difficulties faced by polytechnic graduates in obtaining NYSC mobilization. Prof.

Oloyed emphasized that JAMB's mandate is limited to conducting entrance examinations and managing admissions for first-degree programs and Nigerian Certificate in Education programs. He advised students facing challenges with NYSC mobilization to direct their complaints to the appropriate institutions.

Additionally, he raised concerns about irregular admission practices in institutions and criticized the daily part-time HND programs, warning graduates that they may face rejection during NYSC mobilization.
