INEC Reports 1.9m PVCs Collected in Osun Ahead of Polls

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) reported that as of Thursday, 1,906,390 Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) have been collected in Osun State, which accounts for 81.50% of the total 2,339,233 registered voters. The remaining 432,843 PVCs, representing 18.50%, are securely stored with the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) as per the Commission's established procedures.

INEC's National Commissioner and Chairman of the Information and Voter Education Committee, Mohammed Haruna, provided these figures in a statement. Additionally, it was noted that 6,101 individuals who had damaged, defaced, or lost their PVCs applied for replacements and printed downloadable copies of their cards.

INEC has published a detailed table of PVCs collected by Polling Unit on its website. The Commission reassured political parties, civil society organizations, media, and the citizens of Osun State of its commitment to conducting a free, fair, credible, transparent, and inclusive election on Saturday, August 15, 2026.
