House Orders IGP to Produce Fake Agency Mastermind

The House of Representatives Committee investigating the alleged operation of a fake presidential agency has directed Inspector-General of Police Kayode Egbetokun to produce Adeyemi Martin before it on Wednesday at 12 noon. This directive was issued during a committee sitting on Monday, following confirmation from the Nigeria Police Force regarding key aspects of its ongoing criminal investigation into allegations that Adeyemi falsely presented himself as the Director-General of the purported Presidential Economic Advisory Council (PEAC) and the Presidential Foreign Investment Promotion Council (PFIPC).

Committee Chairman Rep. Yusuf Gagdi emphasized the seriousness of the allegations, stating that they affect the credibility of government institutions and individuals named in disputed documents.

He insisted that Adeyemi's appearance was essential to authenticate or deny the documents submitted as evidence. Assistant Commissioner of Police Basir Abdullahi represented the Inspector-General and confirmed that the Nigeria Police Force had filed an eight-count charge against Adeyemi before the Federal High Court, with investigations still active.
