Nigeria and China Sign Cultural Exchange Agreement

On Friday, Nigeria and China solidified their cultural and creative cooperation by signing a strategic agreement between the China Movie Channel and the Nigerian Television Authority at the China-Nigeria Film and Literature Symposium held at the China Cultural Centre in Abuja. This agreement aims to enhance content exchange, film co-productions, professional training, and people-to-people exchanges.

Chinese Ambassador to Nigeria, Yu Dunhai, described the partnership as a milestone in the two countries' relationship, coinciding with the 55th anniversary of their diplomatic ties. He emphasized the importance of cultural exchanges, noting China's extensive film industry and the global prominence of Nigeria's Nollywood.

The agreement is expected to foster collaboration between filmmakers and creative professionals from both nations. Permanent Secretary of the Federal Ministry of Arts, Culture, Tourism and Creative Economy, Abdulkarim Ibrahim, remarked on the symposium as a testament to the enduring friendship between Nigeria and China, highlighting the potential for co-productions.
