UniJos Student Killed in Alleged Jungle Justice Incident

Mbaya, a Political Science student at the University of Jos, was killed in an incident described as jungle justice after attending a social event on campus. He spent the night at a friend's apartment in the City of David area, Jos North Local Government Area, due to the late hour.

The next morning, after returning home to Rayfield, he was informed about a missing iPhone. Upon returning to the apartment to clear his name, he was accused by his friend and subsequently beaten by other occupants, resulting in his death.

He was taken to the Jos University Teaching Hospital (JUTH), where he was pronounced dead. His sister, Pilasar Zara, and former students’ union leader Prince Miaphen have called for justice, urging authorities to hold the suspects accountable.

The University of Jos Alumni Association also demanded a thorough investigation into the incident to ensure justice is served.
